
Every handover is a small act of translation, and every translation loses something. When the editor, the colourist and the sound designer can walk to each other's rooms, the film stays whole.
It also collapses the timeline. Notes that would take a week of emails between three companies take an afternoon when everyone is in the same building, watching the same screen.
We are not against specialists. We are against distance. The work is better when the people making it can argue in person.
