High Ground
A field documentary on water and the people who walk for it, shot across two states and one monsoon.
The brief
Praja needed a film that could move a room of donors without ever feeling like a pitch. We followed three families through a single season, from dry ground to the first rain, and let the scale of the land carry the stakes.
A two person field unit moved light and fast, with a drone for the wides that show just how far the walk really is. We recorded sync sound in difficult conditions so the voices stay honest.
The grade is natural and earthy, resisting the urge to make hardship look beautiful. Restraint was the whole point.
