AAINA is Hindi for mirror. This is the house we built around one, two lanes off the sea in Juhu, eleven chairs deep.
The beginning
A ticket home and a
lease by the sea.
In 2019, Meher Vakharia came home from London with ten years of Mayfair floors behind her and one conviction: that real luxury is restraint. She did not want the biggest salon in Mumbai. She wanted the quietest.
She found a corner plot two lanes off Juhu beach, painted it espresso, and hung eleven mirrors before she hung a sign. The name arrived last. AAINA, mirror, because it was the only word that described the work honestly. We do not make anyone new. We turn the chair.

Meher Vakharia leaves Juhu for London. A decade on Mayfair salon floors teaches her the expensive lesson: luxury is mostly restraint.
- 2019Eleven chairs
She comes home and signs a lease two lanes off the sea. AAINA opens with eleven chairs and one rule: consultation before everything.
- 2021The bridal house
A monsoon wedding season reshapes the house. The ninety-day bridal programme begins: calmer brides, zero surprises.
- 2023Six names
The sixth named artist joins the floor. Every chair now answers to a person, not a counter.
- 2026Fourteen thousand reveals
The mirror count keeps climbing. The promise has not moved an inch.

We do not sell makeovers. We return you to yourself.
A makeover assumes you arrived wrong. We have never believed that. Our work is subtraction, the noise, the frizz, the doubt, until the person in the mirror is recognisably, unmistakably you.

Nothing begins until we have talked. The chair can wait; the conversation cannot.

You book a person, not a slot. Their name is on the work, and they sign it at the mirror.

Stylist, Senior, Style Director. Clear prices, printed in the menu, no decoding required.
- 04Sterile is the minimum
UV cabinets, sealed single-use kits, colour mixed for one head only.
- 05Tea before you ask
Hospitality is half the service. The other half is knowing when to be quiet.
The second visit
The room remembers you.
How you take your tea. Which artist made you laugh. The conversation you left mid-sentence with Zoya in March. Regulars do not repeat themselves at AAINA, the house keeps notes, so the welcome never resets.
