The Artists · Juhu

Booked by
name.

Eleven chairs, six hands worth knowing. At AAINA you do not book a slot and hope; you book a person, and the same artist remembers your parting, your allergies and the wedding you mentioned last spring.

  • Six named artists
  • One chair per client

The roster

Six people, one
shared standard.

They came from London salons and Mumbai backstages, from skin clinics and barbershops. What they share is a temperament: slow hands, plain speech, and a refusal to make anyone look like somebody else.

Meher Vakharia, Creative Director at AAINA

Creative Director

Meher Vakharia

Restyles · Editorial cuts

A haircut should survive a Mumbai monsoon and a Paris winter.

Trained in London, returned to Juhu in 2019 to open AAINA with a single rule: no franchises, no formulas. She still takes the chair for restyles and signs off on every bridal calendar in the house.

Zoya Shaikh, Colour Director at AAINA

Colour Director

Zoya Shaikh

Balayage · Lived-in colour

Good colour is invisible. You just look like the light likes you.

The hand behind the colour bar. Zoya paints lived-in colour that grows out kindly, reads differently in every light, and never announces itself across a room. Strand tests are not optional with her.

Kabir D'Souza, Men's Master at AAINA

Men's Master

Kabir D'Souza

Classic grooming · Hot-towel shaves

Twenty minutes of quiet is part of the service.

Kabir runs the Men's Atelier on the belief that the twenty quiet minutes are half the service. Classic grooming, hot-towel shaves and beard lines mapped to the jaw rather than the trend.

Ananya Iyer, Skin & Ritual Lead at AAINA

Skin & Ritual Lead

Ananya Iyer

Facials · Scalp therapy

Skin keeps a diary. We just edit it kindly.

Skin and ritual lead. Ananya reads a scalp the way some people read a room, prescribes rather than upsells, and runs the slow hour that regulars time their week around. She edits skin kindly.

Ritu Malhotra, Bridal Artistry at AAINA

Bridal Artistry

Ritu Malhotra

Bridal makeup · Updos

Brides don't need a new face. They need their own, lit properly.

Bridal artistry, built on a base that survives tears, garlands and a Mumbai June. Ritu does not give brides a new face. She returns them their own, lit properly, and stays until the vidaai.

Sana Qureshi, Nails & Hands at AAINA

Nails & Hands

Sana Qureshi

Gel artistry · Spa rituals

Hands talk all day. Mine just make sure yours say the right thing.

Nails and hands, taken seriously. Sana files in one direction because the other way weakens the nail, opens every kit in front of you, and treats the massage to the elbow as the actual service.

The way they work

Different chairs, the same
three habits.

01Booked by name

No pooled chairs, no whoever-is-free. You choose your artist, and the same hands greet you on the next visit and the one after that.

02Prescribe, never push

Every chair begins with honesty about what your hair, skin or nails actually need, including the day the honest answer is nothing.

03Slow is the standard

Six artists, eleven chairs, kept deliberately under-booked. Nobody here is rushing to the next head while they finish yours.

Heard at the mirror

“I came in with a photo of someone else and left looking like myself.”

The Aaina Academy

We grow our own
hands.

Every senior artist mentors an apprentice through a two-year programme: shadowing, strand tests, model nights and a hundred small corrections. No chair at AAINA is ever handed to someone still finding their feet. The academy is how the standard outlives any one of us.

Apprentices assist, never lead, until Meher signs them onto the floor. Trainee model evenings run quarterly. Ask the desk.

A precision cut in close detail: comb, shears and a steady senior hand
