Nature Of Digital Services And How Stage Affects Refunds
Unlike a physical product that can be returned unused, a digital project consumes effort as soon as work starts. Discovery calls, scoping, research, wireframes, design, code, configuration and content all represent hours that cannot be taken back. Because of this, our refunds are stage-based: the earlier you are in the process, the more we can return, and the further along we are, the less remains refundable. The fairest way to read this policy is simple: you are charged for the value already created, and you are eligible for a refund only on value not yet delivered.
- Refund eligibility is determined by the stage reached, not by a fixed percentage.
- Time, research and creative effort already spent are treated as delivered value.
- Third-party costs we have already paid on your behalf are not recoverable by us, so they cannot be refunded to you.
- Where work is partly complete, we aim for a fair split rather than an all-or-nothing outcome.
Cancelling An Engagement
You may ask to cancel an engagement at any time by writing to us at director@4amtech.com. We will confirm the stage your project has reached, what has already been delivered, and the refund position that follows from the stage-based rules in this policy. Cancellation does not by itself create a right to a full refund: it simply stops further work and fixes the point at which we assess what, if anything, is refundable.
- Write to director@4amtech.com to request a cancellation.
- We confirm the stage reached and the resulting refund position in writing.
- Cancellation stops further work; it does not reverse value already delivered.
Stage-Based Refund Eligibility
We assess every refund request against the stage your engagement has reached at the moment we receive the request. As a guide, the points below reflect how we treat each stage. The exact stage and the corresponding amount are confirmed in writing when we respond to your request.
- Before kickoff (paid but no work started): most refundable, less only the payment-gateway charges and a reasonable administrative cost already incurred.
- After discovery or design has started: partial refund only. The completed portion (research, scoping, wireframes, designs delivered for review) is not refundable; the unstarted portion may be.
- After development has started: partial or non-refundable, depending on how much has been built. Completed and reviewable work is not refundable.
- Delivered or handed over: non-refundable, because the deliverables, source files, code and credentials have already passed to you.
Fixed Packages And Productised Services
Some of our offerings are sold as fixed packages at a published or quoted price, for example a defined website build, an automation setup, or a starter SEO package. These follow the same stage-based logic as custom work. Once we begin delivering a fixed package, the portion completed is not refundable, and once the package is delivered in full it is non-refundable. If you cancel before any work begins, you are eligible for a refund of the amount paid, less the payment-gateway charges and any reasonable administrative cost.
- Before any work: refund of the amount paid, less gateway and administrative costs.
- Partway through: refund limited to the clearly unstarted portion of the package.
- After full delivery: non-refundable.
Custom And Milestone Projects
Most of our larger projects are split into milestones written into your proposal: a booking amount to start, one or more progress payments, and a final payment before handover. The booking amount reserves your slot and funds the initial discovery and planning, so it is generally non-refundable once the project has kicked off. Each milestone is invoiced against work that has been completed and made available for your review, which means a completed milestone is not refundable. Refunds, where applicable, are considered only against amounts paid for milestones not yet started.
- The booking amount is non-refundable once we have kicked off the project.
- Any milestone that is completed and submitted for review is not refundable.
- A refund can only apply to a paid milestone whose work has not yet begun.
- Full ownership, source files, code and account credentials transfer to you on final payment, as set out in our Terms and Conditions. There is no lock-in.
Third-Party And Payment-Gateway Costs
When we spend money with outside parties on your behalf, that money leaves our hands and cannot be recovered, so it cannot be refunded. This includes costs such as domains, hosting, paid plugins, themes, software licences, advertising spend, and similar third-party purchases. It also includes the fees charged by our payment gateway, Razorpay, on the original transaction. These amounts are deducted from any refund, or are treated as non-refundable, even where the rest of an engagement qualifies for a refund.
- Domains, hosting, paid plugins, themes and software licences already purchased.
- Advertising and media spend already placed with platforms on your behalf.
- Payment-gateway (Razorpay) fees on the original transaction.
- Any 18% GST already remitted to the government on the original invoice.
Monthly, Retainer And Subscription Services
Some services run on a recurring basis, such as SEO retainers, AI-agent and WhatsApp automation plans, support plans, and other monthly subscriptions. For these, the current billing cycle is not refundable once it has begun, because the work and capacity for that period are committed and largely consumed. You remain in control of future periods: you can cancel upcoming renewals at any time, and you will simply not be billed for cycles after the cancellation takes effect.
- The current paid cycle is not refundable once it has started.
- Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not refund the running cycle.
- To cancel, write to director@4amtech.com before the next renewal date.
- Any work already published or configured during a paid cycle remains in place.
Courses And External Learning Platform
Our course cards on the website redirect to an external learning platform (LMS), and the learning itself happens on that external system. Because digital course content is delivered immediately on access, refund eligibility once course access has been granted is limited. Where the external platform operates its own refund or access rules, those rules apply to the course purchase. If you have not yet been granted access, contact us before access is issued and we will help you cancel.
- Once course access is granted, the purchase is generally non-refundable.
- If access has not yet been granted, contact us to cancel before it is issued.
- Course purchases may also be subject to the terms of the external learning platform.
The On-Time Promise Is A Delivery Guarantee, Not A Refund
Our On-Time Promise is a separate commitment and should not be confused with this Refund Policy. We agree a fixed delivery date in writing, and if we miss that date, 50% of the payment is waived. It applies to the agreed scope only, and the clock pauses for any period during which we are waiting on required content, assets, or approvals from you. The On-Time Promise is a guarantee about delivery timing, not a general right to a refund, and it operates independently of the stage-based rules above.
- It is triggered only if we miss a delivery date that was fixed in writing.
- The remedy is a 50% waiver of the payment, not a cash refund of the project.
- It covers the agreed scope only and pauses while we await your inputs or approvals.
How To Request A Refund
To request a refund, please write to us at director@4amtech.com with the details we need to verify and assess your request. Clear information helps us respond quickly and fairly. You can also reach us on phone or WhatsApp at +91 93228 20524 if you would like to discuss your situation before writing in.
- Your name and the company or project the payment relates to.
- The payment reference or transaction ID, and the date and amount paid.
- The service or package purchased and the milestone, if any.
- A short reason for the refund request so we can assess the stage reached.
Processing Time And Method
Once a refund is approved, we calculate the eligible amount under the rules above, less any non-refundable third-party and gateway costs, and we return it to the original payment method used for the purchase, processed through our payment gateway, Razorpay. We do not store your full card, UPI or bank credentials on our servers; we hold only payment references, which is why refunds go back to the original source. Approved refunds are typically processed within 7-10 business days from approval, although the time for the amount to appear in your account depends on your bank or card issuer.
- Refunds are returned to the original payment method (UPI, bank transfer or card) via Razorpay.
- We deduct any non-refundable gateway, GST and third-party costs already incurred.
- Approved refunds are usually processed within 7-10 business days from approval.
- Your bank or card issuer may add a few additional days before the credit appears.
Chargebacks And Disputes
If you believe something has gone wrong with a payment, please contact us first at director@4amtech.com before raising a chargeback or dispute with your bank or card issuer. Most concerns can be resolved quickly and directly once we understand them. Raising a chargeback without contacting us can freeze a transaction and delay any resolution you may actually be entitled to, and it does not change the stage-based eligibility set out in this policy.
- Talk to us first: most issues are resolved faster directly than through a bank dispute.
- A chargeback does not override the stage-based refund rules in this policy.
- We will cooperate in good faith to document and resolve any genuine dispute.
