Who We Are

Mr Rasoi is a software platform operated by 4AM TECH IO PVT LTD, a private limited company registered in India. We provide the software that lets home kitchens and restaurants run an online storefront and take orders. We do not prepare, sell or deliver food, and we do not collect the money for any food order.

Information We Collect From Sellers

When you register as a seller we collect the information needed to verify you, publish your storefront and bill your subscription. Some of this is sensitive identity documentation, and it is collected only for verification and is not published on your storefront.

• Business details: kitchen or restaurant name, seller type, address, delivery radius, operating hours and cuisines.
• Contact details: owner name, phone number and email address.
• Verification documents: FSSAI licence, GST certificate where applicable, and for home kitchens Aadhaar and PAN for KYC.
• Photographs you upload: logo, cover image, kitchen and hygiene photos, and dish images.
• Payout details: the UPI handle you register so that customers can pay you directly.
• Commercial records: subscription payments, GST invoices, delivery credit top-ups and usage.

Information We Collect From Customers

When a customer uses the Mr Rasoi customer app we collect what is needed to show nearby kitchens, place an order and get it delivered. We collect only what an order actually requires.

• Account details: name, phone number and email address.
• Delivery addresses saved to the account.
• Order history, favourites, ratings and reviews.
• Payment references for orders, and any payment screenshot the customer chooses to upload as proof of a direct UPI transfer to a seller.
• Device information, app version and basic usage data used to keep the app working correctly.

Location Data

Mr Rasoi is hyperlocal, so location is used to show a customer the kitchens that can actually deliver to them and to calculate distance and any delivery charge. Location is collected only with the permission granted through your device, and that permission can be withdrawn at any time in your device settings, though some discovery features will not work without it.

• Customer location is used to show nearby kitchens and to compute delivery distance and charges.

• We do not sell location data, and we do not use it to track you outside the app.

Payment Information And Payment Screenshots

We do not store card numbers, UPI PINs, CVVs or bank credentials on our servers. Subscription and delivery credit payments are processed by our payment gateway, Razorpay, under its own security and privacy standards, and we retain only the payment references we need for orders, invoices, refunds and support. Because customers pay sellers directly for food, a customer may upload a payment screenshot so the seller can confirm the transfer. Those screenshots are shared with the relevant seller for that order and are deleted after a fixed retention period.

• We never store full card, UPI or bank credentials. The payment gateway handles them directly.
• We retain payment references, invoice records and GST records as required by law.
• Payment screenshots uploaded by customers are visible only to the seller for that order and to our support team when a dispute is raised.
• Payment screenshots are deleted after the retention period needed to resolve order disputes.

How We Use Information

We use the information described above to run the platform, verify sellers, route orders, bill subscriptions, provide support and keep the service safe.

• Verify seller identity, licences and eligibility before a storefront goes live.
• Publish storefronts and show relevant kitchens to nearby customers.
• Route orders between customers and sellers, and support order fulfilment.
• Bill subscriptions, issue GST invoices, and manage delivery credit balances.
• Provide customer and seller support and resolve disputes.
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse and unsafe listings.
• Improve the product, and send service updates and, where permitted, relevant offers.

What We Share With Sellers

To fulfil an order, the seller needs to know who is ordering and where the food is going. We therefore share a limited set of customer details with the seller for that specific order, and sellers are contractually restricted to using it only for that order.

• Customer name, contact number and delivery address for the specific order.
• The order contents, any customer instructions, and the payment reference or screenshot.
• Sellers may not export customer data, build marketing lists from it, or contact customers outside the context of their orders.

What We Share With Third Parties

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with the service providers who help us run Mr Rasoi, and where the law requires it.

• Payment gateway (Razorpay) to process subscription and delivery credit payments securely.
• Delivery partners, when a delivery is arranged through the platform, receive the pickup and drop details needed to complete it.
• Hosting, cloud storage, messaging and notification providers that operate the platform infrastructure.
• Analytics providers, used to understand product usage in aggregate.
• Government, regulatory or legal authorities where disclosure is required by applicable law.

Push Notifications And Messages

We send notifications that are part of the service, such as a new order alert to a seller or an order status update to a customer. Service notifications are necessary to operate the platform. Promotional messages are separate, and you can opt out of them without affecting the service alerts you need.

• Service notifications include new orders, order status changes, subscription reminders and account alerts.
• Promotional messages are optional and can be turned off in app settings or by contacting us.
• System notification permissions can be managed at any time from your device settings.

Data Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, including legal, accounting, tax and security obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymised.

• Invoices, GST records and payment references are retained for the period required by Indian tax law.
• Seller verification documents are retained while the account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards.
• Order records are retained to support disputes, refunds and analytics.
• Payment screenshots are deleted after their dispute-resolution retention period.

Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or alteration. Access to verification documents and personal data is restricted to authorised personnel, and sensitive transactions are carried out over encrypted connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work continuously to safeguard the data we hold.

• Access to identity documents is limited to the team members who perform verification.
• Data in transit is protected by encrypted connections.
• Payment credentials never reach our servers.

Your Rights, Account Deletion And Choices

You can ask for access to, correction of or deletion of your personal information at any time, and you can opt out of promotional messages. Account deletion is available inside the app and also by writing to us, and once processed it removes your profile and personal data, subject to records we are legally required to keep.

• Opt out of promotional messages at any time without affecting service notifications.
• Some records, such as invoices, GST records and dispute documentation, are retained where the law requires it.

Children's Privacy

Mr Rasoi is intended for users aged 18 and above, both as sellers and as customers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes To This Policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in the product, our providers or the law. The latest version is always published on this page with its effective date, and material changes are notified through the app or by email.

Grievance Officer, Governing Law And Contact

In accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it, you can contact our Grievance Officer with any question, concern or complaint about this policy or your personal data. We aim to acknowledge and resolve grievances within the timelines required by applicable law. This policy is governed by the laws of India.
